 A situation in which there are many people on the bottom whose main objective is to make money mainly by marketing the business opportunity tends toward being False Business Opportunity Multi Level Marketing (also called False Multi Level Marketing). True Business Opportunity Multi Level Marketing (also called True Multi Level Marketing) can exist only in a system in which the people on the bottom want to buy the main set of products and/or services that the business is to provide.

Pyramid Systems are defined as being illegal if they tend to deceive people into be believing that if they invest a relatively small amount of money they will receive a large return on their investment.
